NSE Akwa Ibom chapter confers excellence awards on Engr. Francis Uwah, 2 others.

The Nigerian society of Engineers – (NSE) Akwa Ibom chapter  on Sunday evening rolled out the drums and red carpet to celebrate three distinguished sons of Akwa Ibom state by conferring excellence awards on them for their contributions towards the development of the state and beyond.

One of the awardees that received the loudest ovation for the night was Engineer Francis Uwah, MD/CEO of Snaeda Engineering company limited.   Honoured alongside him were the secretary to the government of Akwa Ibom state, Engineer Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem and MD/CEO of Hensek Engineering company limited, Engineer Uwem Okoko.

Prior to this conferment, Engr Francis Uwah was recently conferred with the fellowship of Nigerian Society of Engineers which gives him the right and impetus to put the suffix of FNSE after his name and also partake of benefits accruable to members of college of fellows of the society.

Speaking to the newsmen shortly after the conferment, Engr. Uwah attributed the double barrel honors that have come his way almost simultaneously, to God, governor Udom Emmanuel, whom he said is committed to making Akwa Ibom people, no matter how small or big, to realize their dreams.

The Frontline consultant to government of Akwa Ibom state on coconut refinery, Victor Attah international airport and 25-storey Dakkada towers commonly called the “smart building” also gave his uprising to dint of hard work and perseverance.

“I would want to say that it is a double blessing from God and also a testimony to His excellency, governor Udom Emmanuel’s commitment to creating enabling environment to realization of dreams of Akwa Ibom people, no matter their age and standard.

“It’s a privilege to be honored twice within a short space of time and also a testimony to hard work and a boost to indigenous engineers.

” It’s not easy to supervise all these projects coming not only from engineers from Akwa Ibom state where these projects are being built, but also engineers from across the world with high academic pedigree and technical ingenuity to be able to see what they do, advise, correct and make sure they are able to bring out the projects the way the governor and people of Akwa Ibom want.”

The installation of the 16th chairman of Akwa Ibom state branch of NSE, Engr. Uwem Akpan described as the most elaborate in the history of state chairmen installations throughout the country had in attendance the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Pastor Umo Eno who felicitated the newly  installed chairman and his cabinet members on their successful installation.

In like manner, he congratulated the new fellows and awardees on their well deserved elevation and honors, even as he promised to partner engineers when he assumes office by ensuring that he awards key contracts to indigenous engineers as engineer Uwem Okoko has proven his mettle that indigenous engineers can equally do well.

Fielding questions from journalists, Engineer Uwem Akpan explained that the honor was his own way of appreciating the awardees for their invaluable contributions towards making life comfortable to humanity.

He restated commitment to ensure that he completes the branch secretariat whose work was started by his immediate predecessor, Engr Obop.

On his part the vice chairman, Engineer Emem Ezekiel in a vote of thanks, described the new chairman as an easygoing person  and a promise keeper, adding that as he has promised to complete work on the secretariat so will it be. Emem who has worked together with the chairman for some time disagrees with those who may want to stoke the embers of fire by suggesting that the chairman be a hard nut to crack.
