2023:Plateau PDP Screen’s 130 State Assembly, 72 NASS, 23 Governorship Aspirants

Ahead of the People Democratic party (PDP) primaries, the Plateau state chapter of the party has screened  aspirants who are contesting various positions and issued certificate of clearance to the successful aspirants.

Those who scaled  through the screening process which is part of the party lay down rules to know those qualified for the party primaries  includes;130 State Assembly, 23 Governorship  and 72 National Assembly aspirants.

The chairman of the party in the state Hon.Chris Hassan disclosed this in an exclusive interview with our correspondence at the party Secretariat in Jos, plateau state capital.

Hassan said the number of  aspirants vying for various positions of the party has never been  this much which is an obvious indication that there is confident that has been posted on the  leadership of the party in the state, considering what has transpired during the Jos North/Bassa Federal constituency bye election.

He further stressed that when the leadership of political party provides a level playing ground without supporting any particular aspirant, noting that as party man he works towards the success of the party in the election.

The chairman assured all the contestants that they will be giving a level playing ground during the primaries devoid of sentiments attached.

He called on the PDP family to come out in their numbers to elect the ad hoc delegates that will join the other delegates to constitute the electoral committee preparatory to the party primaries.

According to him, all these are still in process,and believed that soonest it will be completed and start the process of constituting the electoral committees elected from each electoral wards, saying that the party is more than ready for the conduct of the election.

He assured that the party will come out with the best process contrary to some pessimist, “l am assuring you that the party is going to provide a level play ground to all the aspirants vying under the party.

“The delegates should conduct themselves in PDP manner, meaning you do it rancor free devoid of insult as Congress and convention suppose to be place where you make friends and relate with one another.”

He warned mischief makers to stay away from the exercise especially those who are not members of the party.

Hassan also revealed that the security have been briefed adequately and they have gave us assurance, and INEC is also going to be part of it.

The chairman advice those who may emerge victorious at the contest to carry the looser along and team up and work towards the actualization of party victory in 2023 general elections
