Tinubu flags off presidential campaign in Jos

.His coming is history repeating itself, victory assured – Lalong

The director general of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign organization and Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong has described the coming of Senator Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to Plateau to officially launch his 2023 presidential election is a sign of history repeating itself as victory assured.

Lalong said other presidential candidates who previously launched their campaign in Jos such as Abiola and Obasanjo emerged Nigerian Presidents.

The Governor who spoke to newsmen alongside chairman local organizing committee of presidential flag, the deputy speaker House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Idris Maje Wase,Monday shortly after inspecting the Rwang Pam Township stadium expressed optimism with the level of preparation.

In his words, “I am satisfied with the level of preparation because I trust the chairman of local organizing committee and my deputy and I know they are not going to disappoint us because if they fail it means the whole Plateau failed.”

Giving the rationale on why the choice of Plateau, Lalong revealed that, “this is a normal history repeating itself. Like we always said, Jos is the  headquarters of victory. Before we used to do it in the Eagles square but now we have gone back to the tradition which is Jos, because of the weather, hospitality and reception.Our presidential candidate is also very, very comfortable with coming to Jos.

“Last two days I came here, I am here again today and I have seen a remarkable work and by the special grace of God we are going to witness a peaceful campaign take off.

“The course is very clear because God is making history by himself. Anybody that declared on the Plateau became the president of Nigeria. Abiola and Obasanjo declared here and eventually emerged the presidents of Nigeria. Yes we went to Lagos prior to 2015 elections and Lagos produced Buhari but we can’t go to Lagos for Asiwaju Tinubu because Lagos is his home and we say Plateau he said yes. Tinubu will become the president of Nigeria by the special grace of God!

When I saw the improvement in the surrounding and what the Plateau people are doing in the streets it is a very unique reception because it took me time before coming to the stadium. That is the good thing about the ruling party, that is the good thing about acceptable party and that is the good thing about acceptable candidate.

“I charged Plateau citizens to remain peaceful and hospitable so that at the end of the day history will have it that the president of Nigeria in 2023 by the grace of God, come to Plateau and went back peaceful!” Lalong stated.

Chairman Local organizing committee for presidential campaign flag off and deputy speaker House of Representatives Abuja, Rt. Hon. Idris Maje Wase also assured that all modalities have been put in place to ensure a unique and successful campaign flag off.
