Sit -At-Home: Enugu Is Relatively Compliant

Unlike last Monday’ sit-at-home ordered by the pro Biafran IPOB in the South East to protest the detention of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, today’s edition called to protest Buhari’s visit to Imo state has elicited some degree of compliance here.

Markets, offices, banks, shops, supermarkets and hotels as well as restaurants and filling stations are closed for business, there is significant vehicular movements on the major roads and streets.

The last Monday torching of an articulated truck laden with goods in the Nsukka area of Enugu state may not have had any effect on vehicular traffic within the metropolis and environs though inter state movements are not operative as major motor parks are all shut

However, reports from neighbouring Imo state state that Owerri and major towns are real ghosts of themselves.

There no security beef-ups and patrols just as no reports of clashes or enforcement of the order.
