Confusion as INEC rejects PDP Kano State Caretaker Committee shortly after inauguration, citing court order

Few hours after the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP had inaugurated its Kano State Caretaker Committee, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has called the attention of the PDP of a High Court order restraining the Commission “from accepting any list of Interim Caretaker Committees” in respect of your Kano State Chapter.
Rose Oriaran-Anthony Secretary to the Commission had in a letter with reference number
INEC/DEPM/PDP/286/1/31 and addressed to the PDP national chairman indicating that it may not honour the request of the party.
The letter reads: “Please refer to your letter Ref. PDP/DOM/GF.2/VOL1M/22-055 dated 30” March, 2022 in which you notified the Commission of the decision of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) to appoint a Kano State Caretaker Committee.
“This is to draw your attention to an Order of Federal High Court, Abuja (SUIT NO:FHC/ABJ/CS/393/2022) which has restrained the Commission “from accepting any list of Interim Caretaker Committees” in respect of your Kano State Chapter.
“While hoping your party takes note of the Order of the Federal High Court, Abuja, please accept the assurance of the Commission’s warm regards.”
PDP national chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu had earlier Wednesday inaugurated its Kano State Chapter caretaker committee at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
