Bianca Ojukwu Tasks Obiano To Attend South East Security Meeting Today

In the wake of worsening security threats in the South East geopolitical zone,n emergency security meeting has been slated to hold today in Enugu,Enugu State.
Expected to attend this urgent security meeting include the governors of the South East states,elected political leaders of the zone,ecclesiastical leaders,traditional rulers and other pertinent stakeholders .
South East has recently become a hotbed of rising insecurity with Imo and Anambra leading the pack while the other states are now less affected.
Anambra ha a peculiar case with its gubernatorial elections coming up on November 6,2021.
Recently there has been yet to explained killings of persons and denizens in the state including Dr Chike Akunyili,late spouse of the former Information Minister and mercurial DG of NAFDAC,Prof Dora Akunyili.
These re happening against the backdrop of a two-month odd crippling sit-at-home protest ordered by pro Biafran group,IPOB in protest of extra ordinary rendition and detention of its leader,Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by Nigerian security agents.
Yesterday’s edition of the protest witnessed some degree of violence across the zones with sporadic shootings, alleged torching of properties of non compliant persons by reported enforcers
As the political and other leaders confer today in Enugu there has an indication that Gov Obiano may not attending in person but may delegate his deputy as has become his style lately whenever such important meetings are held..
This has prompted no less a person than the spouse of late Biafran leader,Iyom Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, to urge the governor to attend the meeting more so as Anambra is one flashpoints of security challenges.

Hear her “An emergency South East Governors meeting is taking place tomorrow 5th October 2021 to discuss the worsening state of insecurity in the zone, particularly in Anambra State which has become a crisis point as a result of the impending guber elections.
All S.E governors have been requested to attend IN PERSON and not in representative capacity. I am appealing, together with All concerned citizens of Anambra to our governor, Chief Willie Obiano to PHYSICALLY attend this meeting. Anambra is boiling. It’s no longer just a matter of unknown gunmen….even Politically motivated and other opportunistic killings have now become subsumed under this heading. Just last week 8 people, including an illustrious Son, Dr Chike Akunyili , were gruesomely murdered in different locations of the state….yet, no executive condolence visits. Yesterday Unizik Teaching Hospital was invaded by rampaging gunmen and a student was shot dead, with another killing and other casualties reported overnight.
Anambra state is in mayhem; people are postponing funerals and other activities and many Anambra indigenes resident abroad are canceling their Christmas return trips.”
Underscoring the importance of the meeting, Iyom Ojukwu averred that ” I am appealing to Governor Willie Obiano, who is yet again, planning to send his Deputy to represent him, to reconsider this approach. This is not business as usual…our people are being gunned down almost on a daily basis. As our governor, he is the Chief Security Officer of the State. If he is hale and hearty enough to undertake ceaseless sightseeing excursions to the Anambra Airport Construction Site, I believe it will not be too much to ask that he sacrifices some of this precious time to attend this important security meeting for the sake, not only of Ndi Anambra But Ndi Igbo as a whole
