Why I couldn’t go to court – Oyo Accord Senatorial candidate, Hon Peller

.Empowers party supporters with items worth several millions of naira

Oyo State federal lawmaker representing the people of  Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber, Hon. Shina Peller, has explained why he refused to approach the court of law after the controversial All Progressives Congress ( APC) primaries marred with a lot of irregularities and complaints from the contestants .

He said the desire to stand out as a role model for thriving youths of Nigeria moved him to bury the thought of approaching the court of law to seek redress against injustice melted on him and other candidates.

Hon. Peller spoke at the mega empowerment programme held at the Technical College, Iseyin on Saturday to compensate loyal party supporters who stood by him throughout the period of trials.

The programme, which attracted a mammoth crowd of supporters in Oke-Ogun area, saw distribution of empowerment materials worth several millions of naira to loyal party supporters .

Among the items distributed at the epoch-making event are: 20 branded Toyota Camry and Siena Cars, 150 Electric Cookers, 100 Pressing Irons, 84 grinding machines, 10 Hair Dryers, 69 Chaoba Clippers, 260 Farm Sprayers, 10 Tricycles, 53 Electric kettles, 100 Standing Fans, 100 Gas Cylinders, 27 Generators, 49 Yamaha Motorcycles, 42 freezers, and 40 Sewing Machines.

Peller, who expressed satisfaction for the unalloyed support from the party supporters, said: “I have always wanted to be an example to the thriving youths of Nigeria who might not have money to chase such cases at the court.

“So , I decided to tell my people that it’s high time if truly we want to build a new system. Truly,  we cannot achieve any change by fighting the present reality and for us to achieve any change, we have to build a new system and made this present system an old model.”

According to him, he has put behind him the ugly primaries conducted by his former party and decided to focus on building a new system to achieve an egalitarian society.

The lawmaker now contesting the Oyo North Senatorial seat in the forthcoming February 25,2023 general election on the platform of Accord, further declared that he is currently on a liberation mission to reclaim the right of the people of Oke-Ogun from oppressive regime.

He said, “I believed so much in giving back to the people, I believe so much in empowering my people most especially at a time that I believe that we should stand up for what is right.

“Today I decided to empower the majority of my followers, the people of my constituency, basically I’m sure you know what happened, when we were in APC, have been reaching out to my people even  before I even got a ticket to run on the platform of APC as House of Representative member. I have already given four Boreholes to each of my local government areas because I believe in doing and not just talking and that has always been my strategy to show to people what we can do.

“So completing my term is not just completing it alone, but I will also be leading a libration mission for the whole Oyo North Senatorial District, where we want the principle of equity, justice to be upheld, this is the time to compensate people that stood by me during the hard time, I decided not to run for second term as House of Rep member because of principle of equity, fairness and justice.

“I represent a constituency that has four local government areas, my local government Iseyin has been the dominating local government, and during my time I want the minority to have a say and by so doing, I said I will not ask for second term, so that other local government can have their turns, for instance it was sixteen years that someone represented Kajola local, and  I have to lead the libration mission for the people of Oke-Ogun who believe that it’s our turn to represent our Senatorial District, and the party that I was then did not recognized us and they decided to favour another person asking for third term against me that did not even ask for a second term, this is the highest level of injustice.”

The beneficiaries of the empowerment programme drawn from the four local governments and beyond were visibly over joyed as they receive their items from their party leaders.

Some of the dignitaries in attendance are traditional rulers and Chiefs, the National Secretary of Accord ,  Hon. Adebukola Abiola Ajaja, the state Secretary of the Party, Ogbomoso North Chairman of the party, Alhaji Edison Yekini Garuba, and all the party chairmen in Oke-Ogun axis of the state.
