Umahi sues for Peace on Ebonyi Varsity/ASUU face-off

..restates Govt resolve to Single Campus System

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has frowned at the squabbles and infighting that erupted between the Management of the State University and it’s Academic Staff Union of Universities /ASUU.

Umahi expressed his displeasure at the institution Permanent Site on Monday when he paid an official visit to the Ivory tower.

He reiterated that the infighting was unnecessary stating there is no need for squabbles between the Management and ASUU

The Governor extolled the Management of the University for the giant strides recorded by the Ivory tower.

Ebonyi State University has increased in it’s ranking in Nigeria and all over the World

He said that the two New Universities established by the state government would be self-sustaining.

Speaking against the backdrop of the Single Campus System proposed by the government for the University, Umahi emphasized that the resolve will be in the overall interest of the institution.

Earlier in an address, the Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Chihozie Ogbu, said that the institution signed a Memorandum of Understanding /MOU with One of the Centers of National Space Research and Development Agency /NSRDA.

This MOU will bring collaboration between the Agency and Ebonyi State government

Governor Umahi was accompanied on the visit by members of the State Executive Council, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly Hon Francis Nwifuru, Special Assistants and top government functionaries.
