State of the nation: NASFAT Chief Missioner urges Nigerians to be peaceful, prayerful

The Chief Missioner of Nasrul-Lahi-l-Faatih Society (NASFAT), Imam Abdul-Azeez Onike, has enjoined Nigerians to be peaceful, prayerful and assist their neighbours.

He said this call became necessary in view of the current situations in the country, occasioned by the currency swap policy and fuel scarcity.

Imam Onike reminded Nigerians that nothing happened without the knowledge of Allah, adding that the demonstration of patience in the face of ongoing challenges will attract reward and compensation from the Creator.

“According to the scripture, With Him are the keys of the unseen. No one knows them but He. He knows what is in the land and the sea. No leaf ever falls but that He knows about it, and there is no grain in the dark layers of the earth, or anything fresh or dry that is not recorded in a manifest book. (Q6:59).

“Our Noble Prophet also said: “Nothing afflicts a Muslim of hardship, nor illness, nor anxiety, nor sorrow, nor harm, nor distress, nor even the pricking of a thorn, but that Allah will expiate his sins by it”, NASFAT Chief Missioner stated.

Onike advised people against destruction of properties and violence in any form, adding: “And eat up not one another’s property unjustly (in any illegal way, e.g. stealing, robbing, usury, deceiving” (Q2:188).

He further enjoined Nigerians to extend hands of kindness to their neighbours who are less fortunate and privileged, while defining neighbours as “those whose houses are next to yours; or the people of the locality in which you live; or those whose houses are next to yours or facing yours; or the people of a dead-end street or cul-de-sac; or those between whom and you there is clear access; or those who pray with you in the worship center or what your custom regards as neighbour”.

Imam Onike prayed to Allah to continue to guide our leaders.
