This is just as the police paraded four Amotekun personnel and two NURTW executives over the alleged murder of Emir who was killed after a peace meeting.
Daily Champion reports that Emir was reportedly shot dead by suspected hoodlums after a meeting at Mayfair Motor Park in Ile-Ife over a dispute surrounding the control and leadership of motor park.
Following the incident, witnesses fingered Amotekun corps, Alowonle and Sibi as Police assured residents to arrest the assailants.
Parading the suspects on Monday, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zungura disclosed the arrest of Tijani Ismail, Akinsola Ekundayo, Sijuwade Moruf Oyinlola and Ayeni Adegbola Olalekan who were Amotekun Corps.
Also, Waliu Adejare, aka Jay Jay who is the NURTW chairman for Aregbe Park and Hammed Olalekan Dauda, aka Jagaban who is the secretary of the park loyal to Alowonle.
The CP explained that “On 13th September 2026, the Command received a distress call reporting that armed men had stormed Mayfair Garage, Ile-Ife, and fired sporadically, resulting in the death of Emir. A fatal motor accident was also reported at Energy Filling Station along the Ile-Ife-Ibadan Road.
“Following the incident, I directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take charge of the case and ensure a thorough investigation. Through sustained investigative efforts by the Homicide Section; four suspects were arrested in connection with the crime, with the assistance of the Amotekun Commandant.
“During interrogation, Jagaban confessed that the firearm was given to him by one Nurudeen Alowonle. Subsequent investigations also resulted in the arrest of Waliu Adejare, aka Jay Jay, a personal assistant to Nurudeen Alowonle, in connection with the incident. All the suspects were mobilized by Nurudeen Alowonle and Adeyemi Ojo aka Sibi.
Zungura thereafter declared that “Alowonle and Sibi are hereby declared wanted while the Command is intensifying efforts to apprehend other suspects currently at large who are alleged to have participated in the heinous crime.”
One of the Amotekun corps named Sijuwade confirmed that they were mobilised to the park where Emir was killed by Alowonle but they left after they heard gunshots.
He said “We were at the park when some boys arrived the park while waiting for Alowonle, they started shooting and we ran with our bus which eventually had accident meters away.”
