PDP raises alarm  over alleged  plot by Ebonyi govt to implicate  its leaders on trumped-up charges.

.Warns that the party can’t be intimidated

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ebonyi State Chapter, has raised alarm over alleged  plot  by Ebonyi State Government to link its Leaders/Stakeholders to fathom crimes, geared towards whittling down the party acceptability by the people.

The State Chairman of the Party Chief Tochukwu Okorie, made the allegation in Abakaliki   the State capital at the weekend , while briefing newsmen on the uncovering of state government plans to implicate leaders of the party .

According to him, “Let Ebonyi people be aware of the plot hatched by the government to implicate and harm our Leaders , whatever happens PDP is on ground , Ebonyi belongs to the party”

“We called this briefing to let the world know that this is what is about to happen ,we are prepared to nip it in the bud as it arises”

He warned that the party will not stand and watch a situation anybody harasses its Leaders and members either in the capital city Abakaliki or in the hinterlands.

According to him, “the Resolution of the government meetings was that going forward the only way to challenge court  action instituted against Ebubeagu was to begin to implicate Leaders of PDP ”

He said that the party gathered that the meeting was conveyed consequent upon series of development that have taken place in the state particularly litigations instituted in courts against Ebubeagu security outfit

According to him,”you will recall that the  party has raised alarm following incidences of killing attributed to Ebubeagu operatives,  following  the alarm, several persons have gone to court to challenge the Legality of the Law setting up Ebubeagu

“We have it on good authority that the Ebonyi State Governor called a meeting on 10th February 2022 in which the attendees were essentially Leaders of Ebubeagu militia that operates in the State”

“On the 11th of February 2022, a follow up meeting was called to address nagging issues of security in Ebonyi State”

The PDP Chairman reiterated that not withstanding the brigandage the government  ditched out to the citizens of the State ,the masses were still in love with the party stating “this has unsettles government that have now resolved to dampen the morale of party leaders”
