One of Nigeria’s female professors of Language and Communication, Professor Bolanle Akeredolu-Ale, has been appointed Vice Rector of Pan African University, established by the African Union Commission with headquarters in Yaounde, Cameroon.
Professor Akeredolu-Ale is a renowned language and communication expert at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria.
She has contributed immensely to the growth of media in Nigeria and Africa through teaching and research for over 32 years.
She is also a member of the Journalism Trauma Education Research Group, JETREG, among others.

Born in Ibadan, Oyo State, Southwest Nigeria on January 5, 1964, Professor Akeredolu-Ale had her higher education at the University of Ibadan, Southwest Nigeria, and the University of Birmingham, UK, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma (PDG) in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos.
Prior to her new appointment to Pan African University in Cameroon, Professor Akeredolu-Ale was the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at FUNAAB from January 2020 to January 2022.
She was also the head of the Department of Communication and General Studies from 2009 to 2013, among others.
She is an advocate of girl-child education and women empowerment with over 50 scholarly publications.
Pan African University under the auspices of the African Union has faculties across the continent, namely Nigeria, Cameroon, Algeria, and South Africa.
