Obaseki launches 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem, assures support for military veterans

Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the Edo State Governor , on Thursday, launched the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem, hailing the sacrifices made by members of the Nigerian Armed Forces in ensuring the security and unity of the country.

 

The governor, represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Gender Issues, Hon. Emwanta Adaze, reassured that his government will continue to support military veterans and families of fallen heroes who fought gallantly to ensure the unity and stability of the country.

 

He said, “We will continue to support and pray for families of our veterans who fought gallantly to ensure the country remains stable, united and peaceful as it will go a long way to alleviate their economic situation especially at this festive season.

 

“I appeal to all present at this occasion to graciously support the appeal launch fund.”

 

Edo State Chairman of the Nigerian legion, Sir Ignatius Enabulele, thanked the Obaseki-led administration for its continuous support to the legion in the state, soliciting for more support from other stakeholders to check the security challenges facing the nation.

 

“We shall be glad if the government-owned primary, secondary and tertiary institutions are given to members of the Nigerian Legion to secure.”

 

Director of Youths Development, Ministry of Youths and Gender Issues, Mr. Asiriuwa Victor, thanked the Nigeria legion and ex-service men for their efforts and sacrifices in ensuring the nation remains one indivisible entity.
