No fewer than 400 persons benefit from Sen. Egwu’s 3-day ICT-based multimedia training, empowerment in Ebonyi

No fewer than 400 persons comprising youths, women and men, have benefited from a 3-day training on Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), courtesy of the senator representing Ebonyi North zone, Sam Egwu.

The training which was held from February 16 to 18, 2023 at the Salt Spring Hotel Abakaliki, was a leadership skills empowerment program of the zonal intervention project for the Ebonyi North senatorial zone.

Participants from the four Local Government Areas that make up the Ebonyi North zone namely Abakaliki, Ebonyi, Izizi and Ohaukwu attended the training.

Addressing participants on the final day of the zonal intervention project, Egwu who is seeking re-election on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), urged them to take the opportunity offered by the training seriously.

Egwu represented by Mike Nwanbam emphasized that the training programme was organized to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of participants.

“The impact of the training will manifest in your future life,” he said, as he charged the participants to utilize what they learnt in the training.

“These laptops given to you are for Information Technology, do not sell them. Make use of them, [as] the world is going digital,” he said.

On the forthcoming general election, Egwu urged the people to vote massively for all candidates of the PDP in order to rescue the country from the mess currently facing it.

“Say no to monetary inducement during the election. The Federal Government has provided adequate security to ensure citizens’ participation in the election.”

In a remark by one of the facilitators of the training, the Chief Executive of the Center for Satellite Technology Development of the Space Research and Development Agency, Taminu Bamidele commended Senator Egwu for organizing the ICT training describing it as a worthy initiative.

“This form of technical training is the best a leader can bequeath on members of his constituents.”

In their separate speeches, the beneficiaries at the event namely, Angella Ogodo and Paulinus Ngiji commended Sam Egwu for organizing the training 

A highlight of the event was the presentation of brand new laptops to the trainees and certificates of participation.

Dignitaries who graced the event included the senior legislative aide to Senator Egwu, Morgan Nwankwo, Prof. Adaeze Nwuzor, Hon Chijoke Uwa and Hon Victor Aleke, the PDP candidate for Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency.

It would be recalled that the event marked the 7th time Senator Egwu organized ICT training for members of his constituents, since being elected as the Senator representing the zone.
