N13 billion: Bafarawa petitions EFCC against Wamakko

FRIDAY OBOH, Sokoto

Former Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa, has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, againt his successor, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, involving over N13 billion.

Submtting the petition to the Head of the Sokoto new Zonal office of the Commission, Ahmed Lateef , Thursday in Sokoto, Bafarawa urged the EFCC to investigate and ascertain the whereabouts of the said amount he allegdedly left behind while leaving office.

He further told the EFCC to make his successor, Aliyu Wamakko, account for the alledged said amount.

Receiving the Petition, Mr Lateef commended Bafarawa for for bringing the petition.

Lateef said althouhg the Sokoto zonal office was just being established, Bafarawa’s petition was the first and numbered it 001.

The EFCC Sokoto zonal Head assured ex-governor Bafarawa that the commission would carry out thorough investigation on the matter.
