Murder of Ebubeagu Personnel: Father of victim petitions Ebonyi State Commandant of NSCDC

…fingers its Official as mastermind of the murder

The Father of the slain Ebubeagu Personnel in Ebonyi State Mr Nicodemus Nwigwe, has petitioned the State Commandant of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) over the gruesome murder of his son Nwigwe Chinonso by an Officer of the Corp.

In a petition dated 11th August 2021 and signed by the Counsel to the petitioner Barrister I .C Nomeh , alleged that his clients son was allegedly shot with a gun on the orders of Chairman of Local Government Area in the State.

“It is the brief of our client that his son , Chinonso Nwigwe was a member of Ebubeagu Security Outfit Ebonyi State before his death”

“That on 31st July 2021, Chinonso Nwigwe was among the personnel of Ebubeagu Security deployed to Ugwuechara during the All Progressive Congress (APC,) Ward Congress at Ugwuechara , in Ebonyi Local Government Area of the State to maintain peace”

The petitioner restated that the Late Chinonso Nwigwe was at his lawful duty post at said Ugwuechara when one Alex Igwe (Coordinator of Echa -Aba Development Centre called the Local Government Chairman and informed him that their own political Group were facing defeat in the Congress.

“That after the call, the Local Government Chairman arrived at Ugwuechara in Ebonyi Local Government Area with his Civil Defence Orderly Mr Ogbonna Ani and other armed men in his convoy”

“That our. Client son Late Chinonso Nwigwe, who was at duty Ugwuechara with his team approached the Council Chairman to leave the venue to avoid breakdown of Law and Order”

“That Alex Igwe. Nnamaka Ogodo and Obiñna Igwe (Aka Parapara) quickly identified our client son Chinonso Igwe and his team as people who insist on free and fair Congress”

The petitioner alleged that the Council Chairman Paul Nwogha ordered his Orderly Mr Ogbonnaya Ani of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) to deal with the victim Chinonso Igwe. resulting to the shooting of the Chinonso Nwigwe severally with Long Range Gun that led to his death.

The petitioner insisted that the action of Ogbonnaya Ani as a trained Personnel of NDCDC has brought the Corps under disrepute and Ogbonnaya Ani ought to face the consequences .

The petitioner prayed that the State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps direct full! Investigation into the murder of Late Chinonso Nwigwe by Ogbonnaya Ani .
