I’ll unveil new blueprint to transform Katsina -Masanawa

Former Chief Executive of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC) turned governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abbas Umar Masanawa, has pledged to unveil a comprehensive blueprint to shore-up the state’s peace and development.

Masanawa, who made this commitment during an interview with journalists in Katsina after declaring his bid to contest for the state’s governorship at the Katsina APC secretariat, gave only a brief insight into what Katsina people should expect if given their mandate.

“We are deeply committed to doing much more for our people. We would be unveiling our comprehensive blueprint for peace, progress and development in Katsina State at the appropriate time,” he assured.

His decision to contest for the office of the governor, he said, is predicated on very strong desire to give a credible, dynamic, effective and people – oriented governance anchored on accountability, transparency and good governance.

“We intend to build on the successes recorded by the current administration in the state,” Masanawa further revealed.

On insecurity, the governorship hopeful said: “This is perhaps the biggest challenge in the whole country today. Undoubtedly, security will be given top most priority to end banditry, kidnapping and all other forms of criminalities in the whole state.”

He added: “Education, which is the bedrock of development, will be vigorously pursued to ensure functional and widely accessible educational system at all levels.

“Education is cardinal to human development and security. Thus, heavy investment in education is nonnegotiable in Katsina State.”

He promised to deploy among others local and international network and initiative that would promote social integration, ensure stable and safe communities and bring about rapid and all inclusive development in the state.
