ASUU strike: Atiku accuses Buhari of insensitivity

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has accused President Muhammad Buhari of insensitivity to the challenges facing the nation following incessant strikes in the education sector.

Addressing the national delegates of the Katsina State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday in Katsina, Atiku lamented that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had been on the current round of an unending strike for months due to lack of capacity and will of Buhari to defeat the problem.

Atiku, who described himself as an educationist, promised to tackle the ills in education and other key sectors of the economy.

This is even as he assures Nigerians that the national unity that had been badly damaged under the present administration  would be resuscitated if he is given the mandate.

Atiku said his five point agenda are tailored towards having a united, peaceful and prosperous nation.

The erstwhile vice president also pledged to work with the national assembly to devolves more responsibilities and resources to states to fast track nation building initiatives.

Former governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shehu Shema, in his address, asked Nigerians to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and rally round PDP, saying the national unity that had remained elusive under Buhari administration will return under Atiku led PDP government.
