Security has been beefed up on major highways in Lagos State as voting commences as early as 9:15am.
Our correspondent who visited Awolowo Way, Ikeja, Agege-Motor Road, Oshodi and Lagos Island observed that soldiers have been deployed in some of the likely flashpoints like Ikeja and Oshodi.
Apart from policemen, the presence of the soldiers who are in armoured tanks is seen as a proactive measure to forestall possible down of law and order.
At the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s polling unit, Eiyekole on Lagos Island, as at 10:05am, journalists awaited the arrival of the Mr. Governor.
