Elu-Elu Old Umuahia confers chieftaincy titles on six illustrious sons   for   community Devt. Services

There was a big  Celebration  at Elu -Elu Old Umuahia autonomous community in Umuahia South local government area of Abia state following the conferment of Chieftaincy titles on six illustrious sons of the community for their community development Services by the traditional ruler ,HRM Eze Dr  Sir John Onuzurike and his council members.

The ceremony which took place at the palace of the traditional ruler attracted prominent sons and daughters of the community and beyond.

 

Speaking shortly after the conferment , Hon.Charles Ifeanyichukwu  Agu who is an American based philanthropist expressed happiness and appreciation to the traditional ruler and the people of Elu-Elu Old Umuahia community for  the chieftaincy title given to him as the “Agunechemba I of Elu-Elu Old Umuahia

 

According to him ,” it is because of the way I appreciate the title that I have to come with many of friends to grace this important occasion.

 

Speaking further, he explained the need to always think home if you are residing outside your community adding that ,” if you have never made impacted in the development of your community, you are just wasting your time outside”

 

Interacting with Newsmen during the event,High chief sir Charles Ulonnaya Eluwa  said last year he was given a title and Old Umuahia Amasa has added another one.

 

He expressed his delight and honour over the chieftaincy conferment saying it is all about Community Service.

 

” I want to be part of the development of this community and I want to inform others that it is our community and we need to play a role in making sure it is  peaceful and better”

 

Addressing  Newsmen during the event  Lolo Ugwudiya  Sylvia Anwuli Agu expressed  great delight over the conferment of the chieftaincy and Lolo titles given to she and her husband, describing it as befitting.

 

 

Lolo Ugwudiya Anwuli Agu who received the title of ‘Ugwudiya ‘ said , ” I feel blessed, I feel honored and greatfull to the entire community for a day like this ”

 

She pointed out that her husband is one person that knows how to be inclusive with friends, brothers and sisters and is very social person and that the title given to him is not far from his kind of person and ” I think he deserves it” she said.

 

Lolo Ugwudiya Sylvia Anwuli Agu thank the people of Elu-Elu Old Umuahia for the honor given to her family, while promising to be supportive to them and expressed appreciation to family members, friends and well wishers for gracing the occasion.

 

She further urged Igbo women to be there for their families as well as encourage their husbands and  embrace unity , peace and love, saying that ,” if we are together we can achieve many right things as united we stand and divided we fall ”

 

 

Earlier the traditional Ruler of Elu-Elu Old Umuahia autonomous community HRM Eze Dr Sir John Onuzurike,the Eze Amara 3rd Elu -Elu Old Umuahia Autonomous community Umuahia urged all receipiants of the chieftaincy conferment to be responsible in all their behaviors and to help the community to grow and develop.

 

According to him,” We conferred them chieftaincy titles because they have done noble  things for the community and four out of six of them reside in abroad.

 

“We are blessed that our sons and daughters who deem it  fit to come home and take chieftaincy and by God’s grace we are honouring them”
