Don’t fail the church, Ikpeazu Urges new Methodist Church Archdiocesan, Diocesan lay presidents

The Governor of Abia state Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has urged the new Archdiocesan lay president, Sir Princewill Ikechukwu Ukaegbu and the diocesan lay president Sir Okechukwu Ndukwe  not to fail the church in the responsibilities given to them.

Governor Ikpeazu who was represented by his deputy Sir Ude Oko Chukwu gave the advice during the presentation church service held at Wesley Methodist Church Umuahia.

He expressed optimism that Sir Okechukwu Ndukwe and Sir Princewill Ikechukwu Ukaegbu will perform as lay presidents  of Methodist Church Umuahia looking at their pedigrees.

He Further charged them to lead the laity well and complement the work of the clergymen in the church.

Governor Ikpeazu used the opportunity to reiterate Abia state government readiness to collaborate with the church and the newly inducted lay presidents in the governance of the State as well as to plead with the church to intensify their prayers for the leaders of the nation at various levels.

Preaching during his sermon, the Methodist Archbishop of Umuahia,His Grace Rev.Dr Chibuzor Raphael Opoko charged them to work in partnership with the clergymen for the growth and  propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Archbishop Opoko enjoined leaders to always acknowledge the supremacy of God in all their activities.

He charged the new inductees to work with God, adding that with Him all things are possible.

In their responses, the newly inducted lay presidents expressed gratitude to God for such privilege to serve the children of God.

The Archdiocesan lay president Sir Princewill Ikechukwu Ukaegbu promised not to disappoint the church and the Diocesan lay president and General Manager of Abia state Estate Development Agency (ABSEDA),Sir Okechukwu Ndukwe appreciated the church for finding him worthy to serve and promised not to betray the conference reposed in him.
