Covid-19: Ijebu youths complain of neglect, seeks support of philanthropists

Youths from Ogun east senatorial district under the umbrella of Ijebu Youth Association have expressed their annoyance from for being neglected during this Covid-19 lockdown saying that they have had to endure so much hardship as they have received no support from any quarters to help cushion the biting effects of the lockdown.

The youths in a statement signed by its President, Fayomi Wasiu Okikiola and made available to journalists in Abeokuta, the state capital regretted that notable philanthropists and political leaders who ought to lend helping hands have also not done much to assist the youth who have been cut off from their daily earnings due to the lockdown.

The youths have therefore appealed to the billionaire banker and CEO of First City Monuments Bank (FCMB) Otunba Subomi Balogun, Sen Lekan Mustapha representing Ogun East at the Senate, Hon Kolade Osunsanya representing Ijebu Central federal constituency at the House of Representatives, the CEO of Globacom, Otunba Mike Adenuga among other blessed sons and daughters of Ijebu/Remo land for assistance.

The leadership of the youth lauded Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebu Land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona for his fatherly disposition as well as the governor of the state, Prince Dapo Abiodun for trying within available resources to put smiles on the faces of the people during this lockdown

While challenging the Special Adviser on Youth Affairs to Gov Abiodun, Olamide Lawal to extend his hands of love to the youths in Ijebu land, the group also urged the federal government to lend helping hands to the youth in Ijebu land as the lockdown effect bite harder.
