Communal crisis. Seven Persons injured, hospitalized in Ekoli communal crisis

No fewer than seven persons are currently hospitalized, as a result of injuries sustained in Ekoli community communal crisis in Edda Local Government Area  Ebonyi State .
In a similar vein, the  Chairman of the Local Government Chief China Ekumankama, has subsequently dissolved the Town Union Executive of the community, and set up a 12-man Caretaker Committee to pilot the affairs of the community .
The State Commissioner for Internal Security Prince Etta Uka Ude,  made the disclosure in Abakaliki during an Interractive session with newsmen.
He said that the State government was poised to ensure peace and security of the area stating “Government will make sure that the Interim Caretaker Committee broker peace among warring communities.
“The Military has been deployed in the community to ensure peace, security,  the measure would ensure normalcy in the area”
He named the victims affected in the town Union leadership crisis to include Chubuzor Agwu, Samuel Akpakara, Samuel Charger, Okeh Onwuka, Ufiem Orji Kalu, AnyeleUkaima and Ugbo Ude.
According to him, “The victims  are in hospitals with various degrees of injuries”
He alledged that some disgruntled politicians in the community were  responsible for the escalation of the crisis.
Commissioner Ude maintained  that some suspects have been fingered as masterminds of the crisis.
The Commissioner reiterated that  the Interim Caretaker Committee, would pilot the affairs of the town for a period of six months and broker peace .
Prince Ude recalled that the December 2023 ugly incident in the community, resulted to the killing of  a pregnant woman inaddition to the burning down of the residence
It would be recalled that Ekoli Community has been engulfed in protracted crisis resulting to loss of lifes and destruction of property.

Government  has sued for peace among citizens of Ekoli community, Edda Local Government Area,  Ebonyi State.
