I’ll end Boko Haram in 6 months of office, if elected, PDP guber candidate tells electorate

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP], in the 2019 general elections in Borno State, Alhaji Mohammed Imam, has alleged that Governor Kashim Shettima of the ruling All Progressives Congres, APC, in the state has been playing politics with people and fueling Boko Haram insurgency in the state so that  the people twill go back to the IDP camp for APC to allegedly rig  the elections.

Alhaji Imam, who made the accusation while inaugurating the PDP campaign council in Maiduguri at the weekend,  said: “If elected, within six months of my assumption in office,  everybody will go back to his/her farms. I see no reason for our people to continue to leave in the Internally-Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp”.

“They are creating panic and fueling insurgency just for the people to go back to the IDP camp, so that they will rig the elections. We are going beat them even at the Government House, because people are wise noe,” Imam alleged.

He stated that before the assumption of office of Governor Shettima, nobody left his ward in the state but because Shettima administration allegedly  fuelled insecurity today, people have been forced to be IDPs in their land.

“I have known a lot if people who were rich, but toady are begging on the street, business were closed and governor was busy accumulating wealth. Now our businessmen are out business, contractors are suffering. Just in the name if direct labour. We have change thus government, we are going change the governor:, the PDP guber candidate vowed.

“When elected, we are going to establish three remedial centres in each senatorial zone and get rid of our youths from the street, the successful ones will   secure admission into university, while those that will not cope will be trained in skill acquisition and take off grant will be given to them,” he added.

He said if elected , his administration will focus in education. Agriculture, , industrialization and youth empowerment as there is direct connotation between iletracy , unemployment , poverty and Boko Haram insurgency.

Inaugurating the Campaign committee, the gubernatorial candidate said the campaign council was not only for the presidential and gubernatorial candidates but all candidates of the PDP, right from President to the state House of Assembly and urged the members if the committee to work for the victory of the party.

He said:  “The campaign committee will be headed by myself to be co- chaired by Mr. Nicolas Mshealizza, all the three  senatorial candidate will serve as deputy chairmen for their respective zones, art members house if Representative candidates candidates and members state assembly are also members, while Alhaji Kaka Bolori is the DG campaign organisation.
