Bauchi Gov swears-in SSG, Chief of Staff, 21 commissioners, others

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has sworn-in the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief of Staff Government House and 21 Commissioners.

The Governor sworn-in Barr. Ibrahim Kashim as the SSG, Dr. Aminu Gamawa, chief of staff and his deputy, Bashir Ya’u, as well as the Private Principal Secretary (PPS) to the Governor, Pharmacist Samaila Burga on Thursday.

The oath of allegiance and oath of office was administered on the appointees by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar at the new banquet hall of Government House anext.

Addressing the appointees during the swearing ceremony, Governor Bala Mohammed tasked them to discharge their duties with fear of Allah.

According to Bala, the appointment of the commissioners and other top Government officials were made after due consultations with stakeholders in the respective local governments.

The Governor who noted that the appointment of special advisers and other political positions would soon follow, added that, “any one you have seen sworn-in here today is competent because all of them have the support of their people and I will give them benefit of doubt for them to perform”.

Bala warned the appointees against sidelining any citizen of the state on the bases of political affiliation or to please him, adding that all the citizens have a stake in the government and as such, should be carried along.

The Governor said that the previous cabinet were not dissolved because of incompetency or corruption, added that those who couldn’t come back may be call at any given time to serve in his Government.

Bala who said that the 21 Commissioners he brought on board are tested and trusted technocrats, hoping that they will work towards his success come 2023.

He thanked the state assembly for supporting his administration in the task of taking the state to the promised land, adding that the support he has been getting from the good people of the state is highly appreciated, praying God to continue to avail him with the required resources to serve the people.
