Abuja-based singer and songwriter Ayüü has shared his musical journey and aspirations in a recent interview. Ayüü describes music as his last chance to achieve peace, happiness, and success all at once. He credits his older siblings as his earliest influences and initially thought he would become a sportsman.

Ayüü’s music career began in 2016 when he released his first record “In That Order” on Soundcloud. He woke up to his first 1000 streams and a couple of supporters, which he found very cool. In 2017, Ayüü dropped his first EP, “H.E.R. [His Emotions Recorded],” and has since released 13 singles, three EPs, and two albums.

Ayüü describes himself as a sound and genre-fusing genius, combining his different influences to create music that he hopes everyone can enjoy, especially beautiful women. He draws inspiration from various sources and is a huge R&B fan. Ayüü takes a few hours to come up with a new jam, depending on how he feels.

While Jesus Christ is his role model, Ayüü is a fan of Jemima Osunde and Osas Ighodaro. He spends his leisure time playing basketball and dreams of creating a community where no one lacks. He has created a collective called “SAFI,” meaning purity in Swahili, and is working on new music and visuals.

When asked about any embarrassing moments on stage, Ayüü shared that his first performance in Nigeria was quite embarrassing due to the poor sound quality. He sounded like “Say no be sing the song.” However, Ayüü is determined to continue making music that speaks to the soul and hopes to drop another EP soon.

Ayüü can be found on social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok under the handle @Ayuu_Safi and on Facebook as Ayüü. Peter Madojemu – naijahitplay as one of his source.
