ANDY ASEMOTA, Katsina

As the race for Katsina State 2023 governorship generates more interest across the state, Hon. Babangida Kayawa, Special Assistant on Media to Sen. Yakubu Lado, gubernatorial candidate of the Katsina Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said if Lado is given the mandate, the state and its citizens will be made proud.

According to a statement signed by Kayawa, the PDP flag bearer would provide that much needed leadership and drive.

“At this moment in our history, Katsina  State needs a focused and principled leadership, uncommon courage, clear vision and foresight. We need to build a cohesive team, pursue ambitious but realizable goals with execution capacity driven by technology and innovation,” the statement maintained.

Besides, it assured that if given the opportunity to serve, the ex – law maker would assemble a formidable team of talented, result driven and young professionals that would lay a solid foundation for a new Katsina State.

“A Katsina State where diversity will be a key strength rather than a challenge. A Katsina State where inclusiveness will be an inviolable policy of government. A Katsina State where education will be a necessity rather than a privilege.

“A Katsina State where poverty in the midst of plenty will be a thing of the past. A Katsina State where young people with abundant talents, creativity and energy will be identified, encouraged and supported to thrive and flourish and not pushed into crime and vices. A Katsina State we and our children will be proud of,” it stated.

The release therefore appealed to the people of Katsina to toe the line of PDP that had given Lado its governorship ticket, even as it expressed confidence that “a greater Katsina State is within our reach.”
