Working People United (WoPU), a national grassroots organisation committed to promoting the participation and representation of working people in governance, has inaugurated its Kebbi State Chapter as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen its presence across Nigeria.

The inauguration ceremony featured an opening address read by the National Coordinator-General of Working People United, Comrade Prince Williams Enredonana Akporeha, who welcomed participants and charged members to embrace unity, discipline, commitment and grassroots mobilisation in advancing the organisation’s objectives.

In his opening address, Comrade Prince Williams described WoPU as a platform established to unite workers, professionals, artisans, traders, farmers and other Nigerians, giving them a stronger voice in governance and national development.

He emphasised the importance of building a formidable grassroots structure across Kebbi State, including local government areas and wards, while encouraging members to engage communities, promote responsible citizenship and strengthen civic participation.

The address further highlighted the need for members to educate citizens on government policies, encourage constructive engagement and support initiatives aimed at economic stability, improved livelihoods and national development.

Comrade Prince Williams urged the newly inaugurated chapter to remain focused on the organisation’s vision of building a strong bridge between the government and working people, stressing that the success of WoPU depends on the dedication, discipline and commitment of its members at the grassroots.

The inauguration was conducted by the National Secretary of Working People United, Comrade Sunday Moses Oladapo, who administered the oath of office and allegiance to the members of the Kebbi State Chapter. Following the administration of the oath, the Kebbi State Chapter was formally inaugurated.

The ceremony marked another step in WoPU’s national expansion and its commitment to establishing functional structures that will promote the participation of working people in governance and national development.

The National Secretariat congratulated the Kebbi State Chapter and called on its members to uphold the principles of unity, responsibility, discipline, and service as they begin their duties.

It also appreciated all participants and stakeholders who contributed to the successful inauguration and encourages the newly inaugurated chapter to work towards expanding the organisation’s membership and strengthening its presence across Kebbi State.
