United for Kids Foundation Celebrates 21 Years anniversary

United for Kids Foundation has celebrated its 21st Anniversary by hosting an elegant gala event at the prestigious Historic Oakland Manor in Maryland, United States of America.

The celebration, held in two-fold, is meant to raise funds for its annual “Back to School” event scheduled to start in October 2023 as well as to commemorate over two decades of hardwork and commitment to making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families across Nigeria.

The event afforded the trustees the opportunity to usher in a new generation of trail blazers with the launch of the UKF Club of Ambassadors, a group of young and dynamic group of Nigerians in the diaspora committed to leading the organization to even greater heights.

In the run-up to the event, various Nigerian celebrities like Dare Art Alade, Bisola, Aiyeola, Bimbo Ademoye, Chioma Ikokwu took turns to congratulate the organization and encourage more support for their mission of “Healing Nigeria and indeed the world, One Child, One Heart and One Smile at a Time”

United for Kids Foundation was officially inaugurated in 2002 after a group of charitably minded ladies and gentlemen who were employees of Andersen/KPMG, founded and registered an incorporated trustees’ entity in 2002.

Since then, till date, they have consistently worked together to solicit for sponsorships and use the funds collected to carry out several programmes including monthly visits to orphanages and hospitals, as well as establishment of libraries in primary schools: provision of scholarships at different tiers of education etc.

The Back-to-School programme is the most impactful as it entails the distribution of school bags and school supplies to thousands of pupils in public primary schools and orphanages/facilities in Lagos State and other states of the federation.

The Back-to-School drive has impacted lives positively and provided lifelong learning opportunities for over 250,000 beneficiaries in 22 communities across 15 Nigerian States and the Federal Capital Territory.

The objective of this initiative is to provide inclusion in education for less privileged children by helping them to meet the basic requirement of school materials for equitable education that is critical to quality lifelong learning and sustainable livelihoods.
