Tribunal hears Katsina PDP petitions over LG polls May 9

The Local Government Election Petition Tribunal of Katsina State will on 9th May. 2022, entertain four motions filled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its chairmanship candidates in Katsina, Jibia, Kaita and Batagarawa Local Government Areas.

The petitions brought before the tribunal by the PDP; Engr. Sanusi Abdu Fari (Katsina LG); Kamilu Datin (Charanchi LG); Saidu Barau (Batgarawa LG) and Samaila Muazu ( Kaita LG) who sued Bello Lawal Yandaki (Kaita LG) and Aminu Ashiru K/Sauri (Katsina LG) including the APC chairmanship candidates in Charanchi and Batagarawa, the Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission  and the ruling APC respectively.

The tribunal presided over by Hadiza Mohammad Danja with two members: Mohammed Shittu and Rabi Mohammed, will decide the date to hear the petitions this Thursday, May 9, if it makes an order granting that prayer of the plaintiffs.

Counsel to the plaintiffs, Dayo Adedeji, tabled the petitions while Amanze F. Amanze is the lead counsel of KTSIEC as Saddiq L. Yakubu Ibrahim  and Ernest Obunadike are representing the APC LG candidates and the  party respectively.
