The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Taraba State Chapter has prayed for President Muhammadu Buhari over the reckless killings, abduction, non-release of Leah Sharibu and gap between Christians and Muslims.

The State Chairman of the Association, Rev. Innocent Solomon, during a  church service for Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku administration in the state held at the CAN Secretariat , Jalingo, advised Christians not to think twice in voting for Governor Ishaku for the second term in office since he is coming to continue with the task of building the state.

He pledged the support of the Association to the Governor, promising to make CAN a viable institution that would work at capacity building and assured the Governor  100 per cent support in the Governorship elections.

In his remarks, Governor Ishaku reaffirmed his resolve to initiate more developmental programs if re-elected for the second term.

He said he has made  landmark achievements in education, health, agriculture and other infrastructural development.

He charged Tarabans to embrace peace during and after the coming elections, advising them to shun people that would want to truncate existing peace in the state.

The Governor thanked various security outfits for their selfless efforts towards the maintenance of peace and promised to support them at all times.

In his reflection, Rev. Father Innocent Daloba blamed the killings of religious men and women, kidnapping, assault and poverty on the poor leadership of President Buhari.

He said the prospect of  2019 was bleak, bringing the unfolding activities of uncertainty last year, advising them to see the gift of life as the grace of God.

Governor  Ishaku, Speaker  Taraba State House of Assembly, Abel Peter Dish and State Chief Judge Josephine Tuktur, represented by Justice Joel Agya took the first, second and third scriptural readings during the service.

CAN also presented a portrait of the Governor  to him at the service.

Special songs from CAN choir, youth bands, KYK, LCCN women groups among others featured at the service.
