PDP LG Congress: Ebonyi  joins other States to hold PDP LG Congress ,  Party

 

.Chairman commends party faithfuls for peaceful, massive turnout

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State on Tuesday participated

in the Local Government (LG) Congress conducted by the party across the States

of the Federation to elect its Executives at the Council Areas.

 

Addressing newsmen at the end of the Congress in Abakaliki the State capital on

Tuesday, the Chairman of the People’s  Democratic  Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State

Chief Udeogu, commended party faithfuls  for the massive turnout at the event.

 

Chief Udeogu disclosed that a total of 75,000 party members have so far been registered

in the E-Registration Exercise in the State .

 

“The registration is done through Electronic Digitalization , people who are willing

to register are registered under E-Registration, Edo State Governor Godwin

Obaseki is the Chairman of the Committee”

 

“As at the time we got information from our ICT Team, we have registered about

75,000 persons, very soon we will be getting a million, we are willing to expand, ”

 

“Today is PDP Local Government Congress,  Ebonyi is one of the nine States involved

in the  exercise, we have set our mercenaries in motion across the 13 Council Areas

in the State, officials of the party from Abuja arrived yesterday to take charge of the

event in the State”

 

“The Local Government Returning Officers were deployed to the Local Governments,

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has deployed its officials

to supervise the exercise,security has been beefed up”

 

“God has been on our side since we came on board, we made arrangements before the

congress to forestall hitches, we do not have problem in the Congress in any of

the Councils”

 

The State PDP Chairman reiterated the commitment of the party to ensure

transparency in the E-Registration exercise.

 

“We can not stop people from joining our party, we have not for closed avenue for

people from joining our party, Ebonyi State is PDP, there is no other party in the State”

 

“As far as business of politics is concerned we are at a point of expansion, the

elasticity is always there, we continue to expand for new entrants

 

Members of the PDP Executives who accompanied Chief Udeogu during the

monitoring of the Local Government Congress in the State included the Secretary

Barrister Luke Nkwegu, Chief Chris Lebara ( Vice Chairman), Barrister Obinna Ntechi

(Youth Leader), and Hon Monday Chukwu (Treasurer ) among others.
