Over 150 groups in Borno present cheque N50m cheque to Gov Zulum to purchase form

One hundred and fifty  clubs, associations, professional bodies in Borno state have presented a cheque of N50 million to Governor Babagana Zulum to purchase interest and nomination to re-contest for governorship election come 2023 general elections to.continue the good work he started.

Presenting the cheque to Governor Babagana Zulum at the Government House, Maiduguri on Wednesday, the chairman of the coalition, Alhaji Awaji Bukar said ” “this delegation is a representative of the coalition, which includes clubs, associations, professional bodies in the academics, health sector,, Marketers ,transports women and youths groups among others across the state”.

Alhaji Bukar said ” your Excellency, you may wish to note that , this contribution is from.the members of the clubs, associations and profession bodies mentioned above, as well as the general public across the state and beyond who contributed  as little as N500 for the said purpose. It is my singular honour and privilege to present to you a cheque of N50 million for the purchase of the Expression of interest and nomination forms for you to re-contest in the 2023 Gubernatorial Election”.

” Your, Excellency, we are not against your progress but we don’t want you to contest any position at the national Kevel, we want you to re-contest fo governorship  and continue the job, you have started,”, the coalition stressed.

He said the gesture was to expressed their appreciation for the against stride and unprecedented achievement that he has been doing in.last 3 years and for him to.do.more.

Responding, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state said ” I have accepted your call for me to re- contest to   continue the good work we  started. We have done slot in the last 3 year, but with the gradual return of peace we are going to do more,  as money spent on security will be channeled to execute more projects”.

” Today ii my happiest day, for the fact that you gathered as low as N500 to raised N50 million for me to purchase form. I really appreciate and will reciprocate by doing more to our people “., the governor added.

He further said ” during my campaign in 2019, I promised to work hard to ensure roads from.Maiduguri to Banki, Maiduguri to Gamboru, Maiduguri Maiduguri to Baga and Maiduguri yo Damboa are reopened. Thank God today these roads are  now opened, people are plying them without excourts. I also promised to ensure that people go back to their farm and fishing activities resumed thank God, now people are farming and fishing activities resumed

Also in his remarks, the Borno state APC chairman Hon. Ali Daliri thanked the clubs and associations for the gesture and promised to.immediately go to Abuja and purchase the form.

” Today us our happiest day in the history of Borno, the day over 100 clubs and associations not only asked Governor Zulum to re-contest but went further to purchase form for our dear, workaholic Governor for him to continue with good work. We really appreciate. Words cannot convey our appreciation “, he added.
