Ohanaeze Salutes Iwuanyanwu @ 79

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has joined millions of well-wishers to salute Chief Dr. Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, CFR, OFR, MFR, GCSI, FNSE, FNIST, FNICE, KSC (Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo) as he turns 79 on September 4, 2021.

Accordin g to Ohanaeze in special message by Ambassador George Obiozor,the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide “Chief Iwuanyanwu has lived a life of heroism and sacrifice. When his people needed his services most, he volunteered to serve as a Biafran soldier, rising to the rank of a Captain at a very young age. Apart from his gallantry and exploits in the theatre of war, he was among the Engineers that invented the multi-purpose Biafran bomb, called Ogbunigwe”,

He added that “As the Chairman of the frontline Engineering and Construction Company,  Hardel and Enic Nig Ltd;  Champion Newspapers and Iwuanyanwu Nationale Football Club of Owerri (now Heartland F.C.), which won several national and international championships, he provided employment and meaningful source of livelihood to thousands of Nigerians. As one of the leading presidential hopefuls in the past, he displayed political mastery, sagacity, sportsmanship and showed bitterness towards none.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo appreciates you as one of the few successful Nigerians who have passed through the labyrinth of politics and business and came out unblemished.”
Obiozor stated further that ” It is to Chief Iwuanyanwu’s credit that he awarded scholarships to numerous Nigerians, built schools, hospitals, Churches; produced many council chairmen, commissioners, senators, ministers and governors. He has for a long time devoted his life to the virtues of hard work, sincerity, sacrifice, audacity, ingenuity, philanthropy and mentorship.

His accomplishments in life are a veritable source of joy and an inspiring tribute to the power of human beings to shape their own destiny; and a warning to the dangers of self-delusion and arrogance.” “Furthermore, I recall with freshness the quality services he rendered as the former Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo State Creation Committee; former Chairman, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Planning and Strategy Committee; former Chairman Ohanaeze Political Committee, among others. He is currently the Chairman, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Committee of Elders. All these account for your befitting name- Ahaejiagamba Ndigbo,”he recalled.

Iwuanyanwu he said ,was “Above every other enviable quality is his characteristic unequivocal stand on national issues. He is always firm on the path of truth, equity and justice. His foundation in Christian values and faith has imbued in him the courage to speak truth to power no matter whose ox is gored.
Ahaejiegamba, Ndigbo and indeed, Nigerians are very proud of you.”
