A tanker loaded with premium motor spirit (Petrol) went up in flames at Omerelu, Owerri Road in lkwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
A brake failure occurred, according to eyewitness accounts, and the truck struck a container as it attempted to get away from the police checkpoint.
This led to the explosion and many lives, property have been lost.
