Lay down your arms; let’s rebuild our communities, former Governor Goni tells Boko Haram

Former Borno State Governor, Alhaji Mohamed Goni , has called on the members of Boko Haram insurgents to surrender their arms and come back home to rebuild the  society.

Alhaji Goni, who made thé appeal d’uring thé commissioning of zonal Office of Northeast Alliance for Buhari 2019 in Maiduguri, said the Federal Government has a plan to take care of them.

“ï an asking our children out there  to come back home and give peace à chance as Federal  Government has à plan for you, so that you will be part of rebuilding efforts in the state.   You are children whether they Boko Haram or not, you should come back so that we will rebuild our society”, Goni said.

Speaking on why hé recently  defected from PDP to APC , Goni said Buhari has done well more especially  in thé area of security,  fight against corruption  and economy, adding that people even  Boko Haram are living wtnesses to the sucess of counter insurgency  war  in the North-East .

” ï came to APC  to support  the re-election  bid of President Buhari,   I, therefore,  urge you to vote for Buhari, so  that we will do more”,  the elder statesman  stated.

In his remarks,  Governor Kashim Shettima  thanked Goni  who was his opponent during g the 2011 elections, as PDP candidate,  stressing that with Goni  in APC this time,  there will be zero vote for PDP in Borno.

Hé urged the people of Borno to ome out en mass and vote for Buhari and all APC candidates, adding that Buhari deserved 100 per cent votes in Borno.

Earlier,  the Borno State  APC chairman,  Alhaji Ali D’alo,rs said with the defection  of Kaka Bolori who was thé DG campaign organisation  of the PDP governorship candidate and also DG PDP  precedential council in the  state,  Alhaji Goni,  as well as other  PDP bigwigs,  there is no longer PDP in the state..

In his welcome Address, the North-East Coordinator, for Northeast Alliance for Buhari 2019. Hon. Kaka Bolori, said with their defection, PDP is dead in Borno, as they were the founder of the party (PDP) in Borno.

“Ï assure you this time around, we are going to have total zero vote for PDP in Borno. I urge you to go out and mobilize people to vote for APC “. Kaka said.
