Lagos Assembly Commences Evaluation of LGs, LCDAs JAAC

The Lagos State House of Assembly Joint Committee on Public Account (Local), and Committee on Local Government Administration and Community Affairs has began oversight function of evaluating the twenty Local Government Councils, LGs and thirty seven Local Council Development Areas, LCDA in the State recently to run to Thursday, 11th August, 2022.
The first phase of the evaluation exercise began with the screening of Kosofe LG, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Yaba LG, Lekki LG, Ibeju-Lekki LCDA, Imota LCDA, Epe LG, Isolo LG, Lagos-Island LCDA, Itire-Ikate LCDA amongst others.
The exercise is aimed at making sure the funds from Joint Accounts Allocation Committee, JAAC allocated to Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas are expended judiciously as it is contained in the relevant year Budget approval and for the purpose of development in the State.
Reports of its findings from the Joint Committee after the exercise will be presented to the Members at the floor of the House during Plenary for debate and for further scrutiny.
Honorable members present at the exercise include; Hon. Mojeed Fatai (Chairman Committee on Public Accounts Local), Hon. Olawale AbdulSobur (Chairman Committee on Local Govt. Administration and Community Affairs), Hon. Rotimi Olowo, Hon. Hakeem Sokunle, Hon. Saka Solaja, Hon. Rauf Age-Sulaiman, Hon. Kehinde Joseph, Hon. Victor Akande, Hon. Mosunmola Sangodara and Hon. Fatai Oluwa.
