Jubilation as Joel Jones emerges Grand Winners of the Big Break Moment Africa 2022

What a joyful occasion for Joel Jones at the just concluded The Big Break Moment Africa 2022.

 

It was glitz, glam, and glitters last Sunday as the Big Break Moment Africa reality competition climaxed with the grand finale and crowning of the winner of the reality show.

 

The Convention Center of the Eko Hotel Lagos was shut down with the predominantly young population who trooped into the venue to celebrate and cheer on their friends and university schoolmates who were housemates on the show.

 

The Grand finale was anchored by Denrele Edun and Ushbebe while the 3 Judges are popular Hollywood Stars from the USA – Andrie Adams, Jonathan Coleman, and Doc Calvin Bonds.

At the grand finale, the final 10 housemates whittled down to 5 before the winner emerged. The winner who took home a brand new 2021 Geely car courtesy of Skywise Group and a 10 million naira prize is a dancer, Joel Jones.

 

There were other prizes in different categories. In the Debate competition, Dionne who was the overall 1st runner up got N600,000; Joel Jones got N300,000, and Blessing got N100,000.

Meanwhile, some excited VVIPs at the event decided to surprise the runner-ups with various prizes. The BossLady Law, who doubles as the Executive Producer of the reality show, Barr. Orbby Agwuncha promised and announce a One-week trip to Dubai for all the top 5 contestants (Winners and four other runner-ups) and an additional One-week Professional training for each of the 5 winners in their talented/skills area in Dubai.

 

A VVIP Guest from Abuja, Mr. Dapo donated N2million to the 1st Runner-up and N1million to the 3rd, 4th & 5th Positions contestants each. Another VVIP Guest donated One Plot of Land to the Winner, Joel Jones.

Special awards were also handed to Boss Lady, Barr. Orbby Agwuncha; CEO of Skywise Group, Dr. Elvis Abuyere; Mikano Ltd. and other partners of the project by the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi (Telu 1).

 

The Big Break Moment Africa Reality show which kept the housemates in the Dream House for 300 hours provided pure entertainment, education, and inspiration for the wide TV audience that watched the program on popular digital channels.

It opened to talented students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Though in its third edition, this is the maiden edition that will be beamed to the global audience. The reality show is a first-of-its-kind edutainment competition that is centered around identifying students who have talent in Music Dance and Acting.

 

It first ran auditions in Abuja, Lagos, Enugu, and Portharcourt, and also online to allow many students who are at home due to the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike which closed down university activities since 14th Feb. 2022.

Speaking with Champion Newspaper & other newsmen at the Grand finale, the Founder, of Big Break Moment Africa, Tayo Folorunsho was elated at the success of the entire reality show including the grand finale. Folorunsho said: ‘It’s been a wonderful journey camping the students from different Nigerian institutions. Big Break Moment is merging entertainment with education. This is what the students want – a platform that stimulates their creativity. This is just the beginning of big things.’

 

The royal father of the day, the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi noted: ‘I thank God because He reigns. I thank the convener, the producers, and everyone present. I am a king that wants to change the status quo. Our culture and tradition are our identities. I was enthroned in 2015 and God has been supporting us.’

 

‘When Tayo came to me in 2016 when he was in Abuja that he wants to do an edutainment show, I told him to be consistent that money doesn’t run the world but ideas, and even money comes from ideas. This is about talent education. This is a success. When you are enterprising, always chin up and don’t look down,

 

Speaking with the newsmen, the CEO of Skywise Group, Dr. Elvis Abuyere said about Big Break Moment Africa, ‘This is an amazing opportunity for the Nigerian students to shine. Nigerian youths are self-motivated and talented, they should channel their talent and develop it. The right opportunity will locate them’

 

The BossLady Law, Barr. Orbby Agwuncha also had a brief chat with some newsmen. She said: ‘The students who are passionate about their talents are given the platform to exhibit their talents and they can make a living out of their passion. The contestants are very happy about the platform, it will make a lot of difference in their lives. They should remain humble and not be distracted.’

 

Some of the dislodged housemates who were present at the grand finale were happy for the platform that the Big Break Moment Africa reality show has afforded them. They promised to keep up with what they have learned from the show, the networks they have made, and the opportunities to become a celebrity. They include Favour Odiaka who is a contortionist and Kelechi who is a singer.
