The Edo State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has passed a vote of confidence on the National Chairman of the Party, Barr. Julius Abure over recent allegation of corruption leveled against him by the suspended National Publicity Secretary of the party, Aboyemi Arabambi.

Recall Aboyemi Arabambi, accused Barr. Abure of defrauding candidates and aspirants who obtained nomination forms to run for offices through the party.

In a chat with the Champion Correspondent, the Edo State Chairman of the party, Comrade Kelly Agbaloi debunked the said allegations against the National Chairman of the party, Barrister Julius Abure, describing it as spurious vituperation of a drowning man.

According to Comrade Agbaloi: “our stand on the allegations against our well respected National Chairman of the party,  Barr. Julius Abure  who had worked in different public  establishments both government and at the private sector before coming to Labour Party to become the National Chairman, was one time the assistant secretary, then the secretary before the election to eventually become the National Chairman of the party.

“No one could have risen to such a height Barr Abure has attained without having a clean character.

“You must have fundamentally exhibited a strong character attributes otherwise his becoming the National Chairman of the party would not have been possible in the first place, and it is in this regard that we advise the general public to disregard the opinion of  Aboyemi Arabambi as not normal and should be taken as vituperations coming from a drowning man which of course he really is, considering the fact that he could get himself immersed in a terrible corruption charges which has to do with anti-party activities by collecting money from other political party to undo Labour Party”.

Going further, Comrade Agbaloi added: “Aboyemi Arabambi therefore has no moral justification to come forward now to tell the general public that our well respected National Chairman committed one crime or the other because one would be forced to ask at what point in time did he know that Barr. Abure committed the offence for which he is now accusing him of.

“Is it now that the party has found out that Aboyemi Arabambi is been involved in serious anti-party activities and is taking money from other political party that he suddenly realised that the National Chairman is involved in corruption?

“So, it is the totality of all of these that the Edo State chapter of Labour Party (LP) decided to come out and reaffirm our solidarity behind our National Chairman, Barr. Julius Abure and to express our unflinching confidence in him as a man who has worked  throughout  his time, through thick and thin  to get to where he is today without blemish of any kind and we do not think that at the point he is now would allow such dirtiness to be associated with his character.

“We are therefore passing a vote of confidence on Barr. Julius Abure, the National Chairman of our party, because the spurious issues raised by Aboyemi Arabambi has been looked into dispassionately by the National Working Committee (NEC) of our great party and found no wrong doing in the conduct of the party National Chairman and as such, we urge our party members and all our supporters to disregard the unfounded and baseless allegations”.
