From Barry Agbanigbi

Delta State Government yesterday declared that it would not be blackmailed to doing the bidding of any individual.

State Commissioner of Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu who stated this alongside Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Olise Ifejika described the attack on Governor of Delta, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as a mark of craft mischief.

This however is unconnected to the alleged statement of Felix Akugha over the false narrative of development of Delta State Government.

While speaking, Charles Aniagwu attributed the several accusations by Felix Akughato to the state government’s refusal to grant N80 million request for it’s image laundry.

According to Aniagwu, ” Why is he engaged in malicious attack on the Delta State Government. We are ready If he wants to do a legitimate business with us but malicious attacks would not make us pay him N80 million”

For him to think that disparaging a man whose developmental acumen of adding value to National development will help him achieve his selfish ambition is unfair”.

In his contribution, Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olise Ifejika stated that Okowa had a remarkable credential that made All Progressive Congress ( APC) engage him on several occasions during the fight against Covid-19.

According to him ” it is wrong for anyone to hide under the guise of journalism to make defamatory statement about the state government”.
