CSO lauds Tinubu, Akpabio for obeying Court order on Ningi’s reinstatement

There are strong indications that Senator Abdul Ningi’s suspension may have been lifted following a statement by a civil society organization operating on the aegis of, Initiative for Transparency and Justice (IFTAJ) commending President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio for recalling embattled lawmaker.

Recall that Senator Ningi was about a month ago suspended from Senate for three months
over his comments on 2024 budget padding.

The group, in a statement signed by it’s General secretary, comrade Usman Muhammed Anache said that, the action of the senate President to obey court order to reinstate embattled senator ,Ningi, no doubt has shown maturity and has deepened our democracy.

The statement added that, Tinubu’s respect for the rule of law indicated respect for the court and none interference with the activities of the senate ” we are happy because the Executive and the Senate leadership followed the path of peace which is the policy thrust of our organisation.

The CSO, maintained that, reducing presidential foreign trips is worthy of emulation by state governors even as the president sold some presidential fleets that cost up N80bn to maintain in a year, saying that has reawaken the renewed hope agenda of mister president.

The group, admonished state governors to do same and use the money to invest in human development to reduce youth restiveness and high crimes in the society caused by idleness.
