President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday arrived in Ogun state on a royal visit.

Tinubu landed at the Dipo Dina International Stadium10:19 am, Ijebu-Ode at about 10:19 am in Nigerian Airforce chopper number 5N FG 2 in the company of his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and the Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties and Media, Dele Alake.

The president was received by the Ogun state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and National APC leader, Aremo Olusegun Osoba.

Tinubu clad in royal blue Agbada regalia with a wine signature cap, immediately inspected the guard of honour and headed straight to the palace of Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona for private discussion.

As at the time of filing this report, details of the discussion was unknown.

Security operatives denied journalists and other local media access to the inner compound of the Awujale palace.

However, sources said the closed-door meeting may not be unconnected with the rancour between the governor and a former governor of the state and Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

Meanwhile, the presidential convoy will also visit the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo shortly after the visit to Awujale.
