The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has wielded the big stick, expelling two prominent party figures and key allies of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, following a fallout over the party’s internal nomination process for the 2026 Lagos State House of Assembly elections.
The affected politicians— Ganiyu Egunjobi, the immediate past Chairman of Agege Local Government Area, and Azeez Yusuf (popularly known as Ninolowo)—were formally expelled for disloyalty, anti-party activities, and conducts deemed inimical to the discipline and integrity of the ruling party.
The expulsion was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Lagos APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, and made available to newsmen.
Both Egunjobi and Yusuf were high-profile aspirants who participated in the APC primary elections for Agege Constituency I and Agege Constituency II, respectively.
