APC sponsored thugs to disrupt our ward tour in Alimosho – Amode

The State Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, Hon. Hakeem Amode has said the ruling party sent thugs to discontinue their campaign in Alimosho.

Recall that the PDP gubernatorial campaign in Lagos started on Wednesday in Alimosho Local Government. Yesterday, the ruling party accused the PDP of removing and damaging their posters.

In a press statement released on Friday, the Spokesperson for the PDP in Lagos State, Mr. Amode said the PDP is not involved in vandalism and added that the act is a sponsored activity to make their campaign inconclusive.

The statement read, “Our attention has been drawn to the defacing of APC posters and banners in Alimosho area where our party candidates are currently touring the electoral wards to meet with members of our party and various groups of the community including the market men and women.

“We would like to categorically say that this act is a sponsored activity to deter our candidates from concluding our planned ward tour and visitation to Alimosho.

“As we continue the tour today Friday, our party has informed the Commissioner of Police in Lagos state and we are sure the Area Commander of the Police in the area is already aware. we have also involved other security agencies including the Department of State Security (DSS) and we are sure that they will respond to any planned security breach especially against our campaign train.

“We therefore urge the Public and our teaming members to remain committed to our campaign tour as adequate security will be provided to protect our candidate and our members who are on the campaign train.”

Mr. Amode also told the APC to cease from trying to disrupt their campaign and intimidating their candidates, he said threats aimed at any member of the party will be disallowed.

“We urge the ruling party to call their thugs to order and to warn them against all sort of act capable of disturbing the peace of Lagos as we can’t be intimidated in our own Land. The public will recall that our candidates Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran-JANDOR on National TV yesterday spoke about a leaked meeting with aggrieved Aspirants of APC presided over by Governor Sanwoolu where he alleged to have was directed them to break Jandor’s head, any attempt of such from any quarters whatsoever will be resisted.” ,he added.
