APC Chairmanship Race: Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff kick starts  nationwide Consultation

… says official declaration comes  up after release of Party   Time  Table

Former Governor of Bornu State Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff, has kick start nationwide consultation among  Stakeholders of the ruling All Progressive  Congress (APC) to express his intention to contest the Chairmanship position of the party.
Senator Ali-Sheriff made the disclosure in abakaliki the Ebonyi State capital on Wednesday when he led a team of aides on a courtesy visit to Governor David Umahi.
The Federal Lawmaker who was a former National Chairman of opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) , said that he was in the State as part of consultations to acquaint Governor Umahi of his intention to contest the National Chairman of APC.
According to him, “I will when APC releases  Time-Table for election, I will run for National Chairman of the Party”
“I am happy for the, people of Ebonyi State, Governor Umahi has made the people of the State proud,
He commended Governor David Umahi for the remarkable achievements recorded by his administration since the assumption of office in 2015.
“I am happy for the people of the Ebonyi State, why I am in the State is that I am making consultation of our party Leadership”
“Governance is one of the most difficult responsibility, the way and manner you steer the ship of  the State tells much about you.
Earlier in a remark, Governor David Umahi commended Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff for the visit assuring  him that he would stand by him when the appropriate time.
Umahi described Ali-Modu Sheriff as accessible and humble, who at every point in time gives hope to the people.
“If I am the Leader of the party, I will annoint Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff as the National Chairman of the party
“Since Senator Sheriff left the PDP, my mind went out of the party”
Speaking against the backdrop of Zoning arrangements in Political Parties. Governor Umahi reiterated that he was not afraid of advocating that Presidency be rotated between the Northern and Southern part of the country.
“I want to believe that the Leaders of our party will follow this line, let us pursue Justice and Equity and we will return to the path of peace” he concluded.
