Alkali hands over to Egbetokun

  .Payment of salary arrears, welfare of serving, retired police officers our priorities–New IGP

The handover ceremony of the retired Inspector-General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba and the newly appointed Acting IGP Deputy Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun raised the hope of men and officers of the Nigeria Police as both senior officers said that the welfare of serving and retired Police personnel has always been their priorities.

This is as the newly appointed Acting IGP DIG Kayode Egbetokun has assured that there ‘ll be payment of all outstanding salaries and allowances of serving and retired Police personnel by the end of June 2023 to all affected officers and men of the Force

Speaking at the handover ceremony of the IGP to the new Police helmsman, the former Police boss said that his appointment as the 21st indegenous Inspector-General of Police was an act of God.

He said that he set out to reposition and reform the Nigeria Police by prioritizing the welfare of officers and men of the Force.

The former IGP further said that he built modern Police stations and remodeling of Command headquarters to ensure effective policing of the country as a way of safeguarding lives and properties of the citizens.

The IGP who said that he set out with clear roadmap and vision of a well trained and motivated Police Force added that he also acquired many operational assets to help the Police in combating crimes and all forms of crimiality in Nigeria

Similarly, the newly appointed Acting IGP DIG Kayode Egbetokun said that he would ensure that there effective security of lives and properties of citizens of Nigeria under his tenure of office.

He said that he would recruit, train and equip service personnel of the Nigeria Police Force for effective policing of the nation for security of the lives and properties of its citizens.

He added that his would run a, transparent, accountable and collaborative Police administration based on rule of law for optimal service delivery.

The new Police boss also said that he would prioritize the the welfare of all serving and retired Police officers by ensuring that the outstanding salaries, allowances and pension of Police officers of all ranks is paid before the end of June 2023.
