A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Bisi Yusuff on Monday described the endorsement of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar by regional bodies in the country as a charade, saying “they can’t stop Buhari’s moving train.”

Yusuff stated this while speaking with Daily Champion in his office at Alausa, Ikeja.

The lawmaker who is representing Alimosho constituency I said President Muhammadu Buhari has become an institution in the country.

Regional bodies such as Afenifere, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, PANDEF, NEF and Middle Belt Forum had on Sunday in Abuja endorsed Atiku.

A communiqué issued at the end of the five-hour summit and read by the spokesman of Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, the leaders emphasised that they adopted Atiku as the consensus candidate for the office of president “as he has demonstrated the deep understanding of the critical needs of the country at this time and possesses the capacity to proffer clear solutions in that respect.”

They, therefore, called on all Nigerians, irrespective of religious or ethnic background to stand in unison and vote for Atiku on Saturday, February 16 and ensure that they defend their votes.

The leaders stated that they settled for Atiku because he has a clear understanding of the nation’s security challenges and a strong will and commitment to tackle them decisively and comprehensively as “he is also capable, intelligent, physically and mentally alert person that will once more restore Nigerian international standing and respect.”

However, Yusuff said, “I ‘m not reacting on behalf of the Lagos Assembly; I’m reacting as one of the progenitors of Afenifere and also as one of the disciples of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

One that can speak for Yorubas today is Baba, I mean Bola Tinubu.

“We held a meeting last week in Ibadan, looking at the calibre of people at the meeting; you would know who are the real Afenifere.

“While I won’t want to disparage the elderly among them, I just want to advise them to be cautious of their utterances. We have gone beyond the age when one group will be giving you the impetus of fighting the other or to be playing on our intelligence. They have done that during late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and we have seen the results.

“What is so painful to me is that of Yinka Odumakin. When we talk of Not-too-young-to-run, we feel somebody like Odumakin will fit in, i do not see why somebody like him will be pitching tent with Atiku. What value have they seen in him? A man who vowed to sell NNPC even if he is going to be killed, if elected. He also vowed to enrich his friends…at the expense of the masses.

“Buhari is connected to the people, these are the masses. Buhari has become an institution. All the groups, whether NEF, Ohanaeze, PANDEF, Middle Belt Forum and the fake Afenifere, they can’t stop the moving train.

“They are the ones causing confusion. Buhari is building Nigeria. He is bringing Nigerians out of poverty,” he argued.
