2027: Plateau ADC warns against attempt to destabilise party .Insists John Sura is guber candidate

The Action Democratic Congress (ADC), Plateau State Chapter has warned detractors against deliberate attempt to destabilise the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisted that Gen. John Sura remains the party’s flagbearer in the state.

ADC alleged that information available at their disposal showed that some “unpatriotic elements” are working with external political interests to hijack party affairs for their selfish gains.

The State ADC Chairman, Farmer Dung Daweng Pam, who raised the alarm on Wednesday while speaking to newsmen at the party’s Secretariat in Jos, said the aimed of such individuals was to create confusion, undermine democracy and frustrate the mandate given to governorship candidate, Gen. John Sura.

“Their attempt failed. The ADC State Working Committee, State Executive Committee, party elders, stakeholders, and all 17 LGA Chairmen resisted.”

The National leadership reaffirmed commitment to justice and due process.

“The alleged attempt to present fake governorship primary results and substitute the candidate was blocked. The mandate of Brig. Gen. John Sura was protected”, Pam revealed.

The state also disowned a group parading itself as a caretaker committee allegedly sponsored by former Minister of youth and sports development, Barr. Solomon Dalung.

According him, the group has no constitutional recognition in ADC Plateau and is acting to weaken the party and advance opponents’ interests, describing them as “political hirelings.”

“We have credible information that individuals planted by the ruling APC are trying to infiltrate and sow division.  We remain vigilance and constitutional, ready to go take disciplinary measures against anyone working against the party.

“The state chapter of the party condemned recent abusive comments by Hon. Solomon Dalung against national leader Baba Kashim Imam. Those remarks are personal and do not reflect ADC Plateau’s values”, he mentioned.

While appreciating Senator David Mark, Senator Patricia Akwashiki, NWC, stakeholders, and Atiku Abubakar for standing for “truth, justice, fairness, and internal democracy, the chairman said they focus attention on strengthen structures, mobilise members, present a credible alternative ahead of 2027.

“ADC will be “the party to beat” in 2027 with people-oriented policies. We warned anyone sabotaging the party or undermining candidates to desist or face disciplinary action according party’s constitution.

“We urged Barr. Solomon Dalung to refrain from interfering in Plateau State party’s structures and focus on his own political aspirations,” he added.
