The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has been invited to deliver the esteemed Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife distinguished personality lecture.
Scheduled for Thursday, the lecture will take place at the Oduduwa Hall on the OAU campus, where Wike will speak on the theme “Nigeria Of Our Dreams”.
According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, the invitation letter was dated April 14, 2025, and signed by the OAU Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. K. A. Bakare.
The letter highlighted the significance of the lecture as a platform for engaging accomplished leaders and eminent personalities who have made notable contributions to public service and national development.
The University Council and Management unanimously resolved to invite Minister Wike in recognition of his distinguished career in good administration, governance, and infrastructural development, as well as his commitment to the rule of law and impactful leadership.
The invitation letter noted that Wike’s presence and insights would contribute to knowledge and inspire a renewed sense of purpose in the university’s quest for excellence.
Wike has been given the liberty to speak on the theme “Nigeria of our Dreams” or any other topic of his choice. The lecture is expected to be a significant event, bringing together academics, policymakers, and other stakeholders to discuss and reflect on the future of Nigeria.
