We are with you in your moment of grief, FG tells Yari

Tbe Federal Government on Thursday sent a high-powered delegation to Talata Mafara in Zamfara State to commiserate with Senator Abdulaziz Yari and assured the, Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) that he is not alone in mourning.

The delegation was led by Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, on the condolence visit to Yari over the death of Hajiya Rukiya Jibril, his maternal aunt and immediate younger sister of his mother.

Delivering President Bola Tinubu’s condolence message, Senator Akume told Senator Yari and members of his family that they were not alone in their moment of grief.

The SGF described death as a transition and a return to Allah, taking place according to His divine will and wisdom.

He encouraged the bereaved family to draw strength from their faith and the knowledge that the deceased had completed her earthly journey and returned to her creator.

Senator Akume prayed for the forgiveness of her sins, the acceptance of her good deeds and the granting of Allah’s infinite mercy upon her soul.

He also prayed that Allah would grant her a place among the righteous and give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

In his response, Senator Yari expressed profound gratitude to President Tinubu for the gesture of compassion and solidarity.

He thanked the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and all members of the delegation for making the journey to Talata Mafara to personally honour the deceased and stand with the family.

Senator Yari described the visit as a great source of comfort, encouragement and strength to him and the entire family.

He prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, protection and blessings upon the SGF, members of the delegation, President Tinubu and the Federal Government, and appealed to Nigerians to remember his late aunt in their prayers.

Others on the Federal Government delegation included the Governor of Niger State, Umar Bago; the National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Bashiru; former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha and former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Opposition figures also stormed Zamfara for the condolence visit, with former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, accompanied by Senator Abdul Ningi, representing the African Democratic Congress, ADC, while Senator Tony Nwoye led members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, (NDC).
